Ruby Teague

Looking towards Abenhall church from Ruby's house on a misty autumnal morning.

It will be a long time before we get used to the empty seat where Ruby sat in church each Sunday for at least the last seventy years.
When she was a very small child, Ruby would walk across the fields, up along the footpath, past flocks of sheep and herds of cows, through meadows of cornflowers and ox-eye daisies to church each Sunday. The family church was a huge part of Ruby's life and over the years, her summer garden parties and her wonderful Harvest Suppers raised thousands of pounds for the church. The whole community of Abenhall and Mitcheldean will remember those occassions with much fondness and happy recollections.
